But when the drums get plugged into the wii the lights come on but it still says please connect wii drum controller and as you can guess i am still very upset as it was a present. So if anyone could help i would be extremely gratefull.

Hi Paul

The trick to getting the drum pads off is a bit of paitence and some washing up liquid! You should put a bit of the washing up liquid on each of the 3 lugs then with one hand pushing the underside of the drumpad off the drumkit use a small screwdriver in the other hand to crush one side of the lug and allow it to start going through the hole. Once one edge of the lug starts to pass through the hole you will be able to use the screwdriver to encourage the rest of it to go through too.

Hey there,
I've recently come across the problem of the red drum pad not working. I've ripped apart the drumset and i'm pretty sure i can find and fix the problem... If only i can get the 3 rubber plugs holding the red pad to the drumset off!
I thought i'd ask here first. I've tried getting the plugs out but felt i was using too much force and i don't want to break the stupid things!
How do you get them out without breaking them? Is there a technique to it?
Your help will be appreciated!
Thanks.

I have looked through your site trying to find a whammy bar repair kit as the plastic spring locator has broken off both my guitars. There is a posting explaining how you helped a guy with the same problem, but I can't find the repair kit to order! Degsy

Hi Kevin

Sounds to me like you have got some faulty wiring somewhere but its hard to say where. Do the red lights on the controller unit stay lit when it disconnects or does it loose power too?

Could be that the ribbon cable which connects the drum circuit board to the controller unit (the one with the playstation buttons on) is loose and breaks the connection when vibrated hard, could be a bad solder inside the controller unit, could even be a problem with the usb dongle. Give us a bit more info and ill try and help like does it loose connection when hit hard anywhere else or when you shake them?

OK so we have came down to what we figure might be the problem is in the red or yellow drum because whenever i play one of them it diconnects my drums from my Playstation. i had got it fixed of it not playin the yellow one i had to turn down the sensativity but now i need to know what would cause my drum to just disconnect itself from the ps3?

Hi Jennifer

Your Guitar strum bar problem is a very common one have a look here for a <a href="http://www.guitarherorepair.com/repairs/strummer-repair-kit" rel="nofollow">repair kit</a>

With your drum problem you will have to provide a bit more info, like what console are you on, do any of the drum controls work or will the whole unit not connect to the console (you have tried the batteries I hope!)

Get back and Ill see what I can do
