Buttons press them selves when i spin the turntable?

Postby Lumpy » Mon Nov 09, 2009 6:13 pm

Hey guys a little annoying problem i have been having from when i opened the box is that when i spin the turntable the buttons press them selves. This is annoying for when i try to rewind the track or in long scratch sections because i loose my multiplier. I was wondering if the push sensors were acting up due to some uneven pressure or what ever just need help to solve this problem.

Cheers

Hey Lumpy I have noticed this issue myself and all I can think of at the moment is the centrifugal force (ohhhh! :D ) I dont spin the rewind back that fast any more and it does not seems the effect my score - saying that Im not the best DJ in the world so I will stand to be corrected on if it is important how fast you spin the rewind

i don't have any problems like that with mine. might be faulty or different model. Even when i really crank it for the 720 rewind, it's no problem.

Lumpy,

TheAstrogator posted in a different forum, the idea of putting a counter balance weight inside the turntable to counter act the weight of the butons on one side, if this works you may be able to tape a few pennies around to the underside of the turntable platter and this may stop the buttons being pressed when you spin your rewinds - I will be testing this out soon but i anyone else fancies giving it a go please post your findings!

Hey guys got a bit more info to add to this dicussion.

I have just brought some more new DJ Hero packs and although they only a few weeks older they don't seem to have the 'buttons pressed when i spin the turntable' problem. In the center of my turntable (which does have this problem) there is no DJ Hero sticker, these new turntables which do have a DJ Hero sticker in the middle do not have the problem - so can we have a quick straw poll if you have got this problem have you also got the sticker in the middle of the disc?

It seems these with these new version turntables the center is heavier and that allows them to spin easier.

Same here, I have the basic version, bought online on the day of the release. There is a sticker in the middle of the turntable, and I'm starting to get this problem.
Let's hope someone finds a way to fix it ;)
I'm thinking of sending my controller back for an exchange though.

Well that blows my theory out of the water - I had thought that it was just an issue with the very early models which they had fixed in the later models but no, it does seem to just be a case of 'some do and some don't!'

We do have 3 of the turntables in bits at the moment trying out a few Mods, we are close to tracking down suppliers of some of the parts so we can offer replacement bits but I think it will come down to how fast we can get this problem sorted - our very name depends on it.

Oh and a quick update- the idea of counter balancing the turntable by adding strategically placed weights inside the tuntable is not going well, the added rotational weight means that you have to spin quite hard to get it going round and it then spins with such force it is difficult to stop again so it's back to the drawing board but don't loose hope (at least not before we do!)

if anyone else has any good ideas they would like us to try then chip in and tell us all about them.
