Hey guys its avocado 73 again, i decided to take apart my turntable to figure out whats wrong, and from my post before about the dashboard and stuff, something struck my mind when i was looking at the back of the circuit board for the buttons. Mine says: "DJ BUTTON BOARD-3 13-MAY-09" What if when they first made the turntables, the computer that processed the chip had a bug, but on the newer ones they fixed it. Try to have people post what # board and the date and we could compare the chips. Also, in marker, my button board has a big "G" on it. I'll post more if i find anything.

I think I've found a solution to this problem, it seems to have worked for my turntable for the time being, remains to be seen how long it lasts.

I noticed that my platter had a significant lean to it, and tended to wobble when it spun. I believe there is a post about trying to solve this problem by using a counter weight, which seems a little rediculous (absolutely no offence meant to the person(s) who suggested it, I just don't think it's practical). Instead, I used an exacto knife to pry up on the platter, gently but firmly and not popping it up very far, in a few different spots on the side with the buttons, until the platter sat level again. This seems to have solved the problem for now. I have a feeling it's probably not a perminant solution per se, but if all it takes is to pry the platter back to level every now and then I'll be happy. If anyone else tries this method post up on your results, like I say, now that the platter is level I'm not having a problem with rewinds or scratches, and my buttons were activating each and every time I did a rewind when the platter was off axis.

Hi fifteen orphans

Thanks for posting in the forums and thanks for suggesting a fix to this issue! We will certainly be trying this to see how we get on and would hope more people will do the same. If we are able to try this on a few decks and post the results here maybe we could be onto something!

Thanks again

I played for a couple hours after 'fixing' my turntable yesterday and I don't think this is going to be a perminant solution. After ~10 songs it the problem started to become apparent again, so I had to keep prying the platter up to make it level after every couple songs to make sure the problem didn't come back. So, while it seems that the off-axis turning of the platter is definately part of the problem, I think the only way to not have to keep adjusting it would be to attach something underneath the platter to keep it level. I'm going to try to figure something out in the next couple days, and I'll post up with any results, good or bad. Anyone else who tries leveling their platter definately needs to post up so we can see if my case is unique or if this fix has potential!
I'm glad I found this site, keep up the good work all!

Hey, i've got some other problem with the controller, i haven't seen anyone so far having the same problem.
i got the game 2 days ago, and when i started to play Hard patterns i noticed that i tend to miss on single one-way scratches even if i shouldn't, also my rewind works at pure random, sometimes it works, sometimes it's slightly delayed, or doesn't work at all. (no matter how fast i spin the table)

The other thing is (that's why i tend to miss) is, i can spin the table just fine etc. but as soon as i try to play a single note scratch i noticed that if i tap+scratch the game recognizes it as if it were 2 taps + a scratch = combo break... at first i thought i'd do wrong but further testing showed that if i hold any of the buttons down (strength doesn't matter) while spinning/scratching the table (any speed, except EXTREM slow) in any direction makes the button flicker, it doesn't stay down it flickers as if i would tap it extremely fast, thats why my scratches sometimes break, it even happens in the menus, and even if i hold either the X, Circle, Square, Triangle while spinning the table, makes them flicker too but at a much slower rate.

any comments?

Unfortunatly we have not found out anything more than can help with this issue, it seems the software on the boards is so locked down that we cannot access it, if we do find anything we will update this thread.
