Well that sucks. Thanks for trying though.

In other news, I picked up a new PS3 Renegade Edition from e-bay and was surprised to find that the screws on the turntable are now torx, rather than phillips, like my 360 standard ed.

I can't find any info on the Renegade turntable itself; to see if Activision has been using torx the whole time, but if not, then they are definitely making some changes. This table does not have the defect yet, but if it does and I am unable to get warranty support for it, I will take it apart and post some new specs on the internals.

Thanks for that, it will be interesting to see if they do fix it but not publically and any changes they may make inside too.

Any new info is good for a bit of internet speculation!

Hey, guys

Just thought it would be better to register and to post some of my observations about this problem. I'm experiencing same symptoms with my tuntable controller and I already have received my replcament which is also working incorrectly. I'm thinking about exchange that one too though, but as i'm living in Russia, things are running pretty slow with that, coz there is no such Activision support center here.

But! I tried to fix the controller by making a leverage with a knife/ruler. That didn't really work on my turntable (even worse that i made some scratches on the turntable itself which probably can be the excuse of not changing that controller in store), so not the option to fix my controller. But guess I found a way to avoid major quantity of those "ghost" taps during scratches or rewinds.

So, what i do is I simply put my palm on the disc while playing adding some weight on it; in other words O'm just pusing the disc down while playing. It's not very comfortable to play like that, but, hey, I can do 5-star songs again! Of course i can't really assure you that this will work on any other controllers, even more, I can't assure you that this is safe to play like that, but still, this works for me, so maybe this will work for you and hopefully maybe that is an issue.

One more thing that i found is that before i even thought about trying this disc-pushing stuff, i dissasembled my turntable trying to find something and then assembled it again. Afther that i could play for 10-15 minutes without any "ghost" taps, but then they reappeared. So, by comparing that fact and the fact that if i play with additional weight, problem dissapears, i come to conclusion that maybe after some playing, screws which hold the disc on the turntable unscrew from their places and make the disc spin faster and that's why problem occurs. For that idea also speak that fact, that some gamers say that their replaced/new controllers spin slower than their faulty models. I can't find right now these messages on other forums with those statements, but anyway, maybe you should check.

Hope that will help!

That makes sense to me, since my controller broke my sister confessed to me that she had been spinning the table round and round really quickly, running her fingernail over it, making "really cool" noises lmao "Cheers Sis!"

This has been happening to me for a while, but i thought it was an easy fix so i didn't send it to get a replacement. Retarded me found out today that it was to late for a replacement about a month ago. I love this game and im really pissed of that the turntable broke. I've also spent lots of time looking for a solution online, but no one has had an exact match to my problem until now. I wanna help out but i don't want to fuck up my turntable, keep tryin guys and ill think of some ideas...

I JUST DISCOVERED SOMETHING I THINK MIGHT HELP! Ok, when i'm in the dj hero menu, looking at one of the playlists, and i spin the wheel? It makes it repedy hit the green button (A). When you play the game and spin the wheel, all three buttons are hit. But when your in the xbox live dashboard and you spin it, NO BUTTONS ARE PRESSED! idk if that helps but it could be importent

Hi Avacado73

Thanks for posting in the forums, as you say this si a mjor problem for people and any help we can get trying to find a solution is great! We will have a look at what you are saying about the rewind on the dashboard and on the menus to see if this can be replicated on our turntables and to see if that helps in working out what is causing it - Thanks very much for helping the community!

ok so i just bought the game today and within 5 hrs of play the turntable started pressing buttons when i spun it. i looked up any information on it and stumbled across this page. well i did what was posted, took it apart to find out myself what might be causing it. well i was playing the game at the time also so it was trial and error. what i came across is the spinning peice that connects the table itself to the wires is the problem. this is the peice that is messed up on mine and i belive if tooken apart and looked at or, because i also read you were talking to activision and another source about it there should be a way to come up with the solution. me myself did not take it apart, im going to take it back for another game to see if the same thing is going to happen. any input on this will help out many of people im sure and i will update if the same thing happens again. thanks for your information otherwise i probably would have been really pissed off. i will keep watch on this site to see if anything new happens and hope my information helps you out.

well i just got another set and so far nothings happened but i noticed something unusual from the one that messed up and the new one. one thing is obvious the sticker and another is when i ahd my last one i took apart i could go into party play(auto-play) but i couldnt get out i had to turn the xbox off. with the new one it didnt happen. not sure if it had something to do with the turntable messing up or if it was just random thing. ill keep updated if the new one messes up.
