Cant seem to...

Scratch..

On the tutorial where you have to scratch, for some reason i cant.. i press the button it tells me to then i scratch [move the DJ disk back and forth] and it don't reconise me spinning, i now know it's not because i suck it's because it is broken.. When i DJ a song out of the tutorial on 'beginner' where you scratch three of the colors together it works for some reason but when i go on easy and there's only one color i have to scratch [like the tutorial] it don't work, i have done what the man in the tutorial tells me to but it don't work i have had a hard go getting it to work but no luck any further advise would be great. :D

I have found this post on Google but i don't know if to try it it's meant to be a way to fix it.. Please help ?
Quote from another board:

maybe sticky this I don't know.
It's been mentioned before (but I cant find the topic), but I never tried it, but today my 2nd turn table did the dreaded malfunction which makes random buttons press when spinning / scratching.
So, to fix it (this works 100% as far as i know, not had a single problem)

get a ruler, or something you can wedge underneath the turn table disc (i used a thickish plastic ruler)

Wedge it under gently so it just fits under the turn table, and gently wedge it up. You'll probably hear a little noise and feel the turntable move upwards.

Don't do it too much, when you hear the noise (its like a creek/groan sorta noise) stop after a little bit.

Then just rotate the disc a little bit each time and repeat (i did the wedge in-between every silver dot on the turn table.

And then, if you've done it correctly (full rotation), the chances are you will not have any problem with re-winds or scratching.

I've already read that too, but I'm not sure to fully understand it. To try it, I'd like two things:
1. Photos and/or videos of the fix
2. At least 2 people that did it succesfully because I'm a bit sceptical.

My 2nd turntable is getting problems and I might do it if it works.

So is anyone able to help prozero out here?

Has anyone tried it and had any success / failures with this approach? We would love to know!

yes I've heard of this fix, and tried it but I couldn't make it work. I think someone suggested the scratch problem was caused by the pressure you put on the platter & the ball bearing over time by playing and levering it up would solve it, but I'm not sure how it would as it appears to be a mainly electrical issue :?

The only way I could get a working turntable was to send it back to Activision. My third one works perfectly. I've finish DJ Hero 1 and done all DJ Hero 2 with it without problems.
