Red Pad Help

Postby lkd543 » Fri May 21, 2010 5:31 am

When I bought my drum in October 2008 it worked fine for about 10 months then I noticed that my note streak was breaking often when I wasn't messing up. Recently, while in create a song mode, I realized that my red pad is playing very often whenever I hit any other pad or cymbal. I contacted the Activision people to ask for the cable to run the Drum Tuning Kit, but they told me since the sensitivity changed over time that its a hardware issue and the Drum Tuning Kit won't fix it (so they wouldn't send the cable). Their only advice was to look into 3rd party fixes. My question is will replacing the sensor to my red pad fix this problem? If not, do you have any suggestions?

Hi lkd543

Thanks for your post - and good to know Activision are admitting the best way to keep your instruments running is our repair kits (Activision support give out our details for lots of enquireies they recieve!)

Yes the solderless drum repair kit will be your best bet, What is probably happening is a bad connection to the sensor as deatiled in this post

You can view the installation video and purchase a drum repair kit from here, and we should point out that the repair kits are compatible with Guitar and Band Hero drum kits and the installation process differs very little apart from where the screws are located (they are not hard to find!)

Good luck
Steve

Yes. Activision definitely doesn't want to assist it's consumer in any way. They told me to go to any electronics store and buy parts to fix it myself.
Way to support your paying customer. He told me I could buy another Band Hero Bundle. Yeah. I am gonna spend 199.00 on another kit just to get the drums. If I was gonna do that...I'd buy my son a REAL drum kit.

My problem is not the sensor, it's the molded plastic disc that the sensor attaches to directly underneath the rubber pad. Where in the world can I get one of those?
