Multiple drums sounding after yellow cymbal repair

Postby simbelo » Thu Apr 22, 2010 1:11 pm

Hi,
I replaced the yellow drum wire & apart from the annoying part of removing the screws, I thought it went like a dream. I've since gone to play the drums & found the orange cymbal plays most of the time when I hit the yellow - with harder hits guaranteeing both cymbals sound. Any ideas? Cheers. :?:

Hi simbelo

Thanks for posting in the forums.

Usually when you are getting a second pad registering when you hit the first it is due to a bad connection, Usually one of the sensor wires is coming loose on the pad which is activating unwantedly. You should be able to test this by swapping some of the connectors on the circuit board - try swapping the orange cymbal and one of the main drum pads around and then play the drums hard (is there any other way?), if the orange pad is still activating when you are playing (but registering as whichever one of the drum pads you swapped it for) then the problem lies in the cymbal, if the pad you swapped it for is now registering as the orange cymbal then the circuit board would be the place to look for your problem.

Get back with some results to this and we will try and help you more.

Thanks
