The Sony Playstation. We've lusted after all versions over the years and the latest is no exception. With the newest PS3, Sony has given us an incredibly versatile home entertainment console that plays Blu-ray discs, stores downloaded music and video, and displays your digital photos. It was for a while the cheapest Blu-ray player available but as usual the technology has dropped to an affordable level and we are seeing cheaper players. The wireless controllers are a nice touch and the whole unit feels solidly built, albeit a bit larger than its Xbox counterpart. With Ethernet, WiFi (which supports WPA encryption) and HDMI output it leads the way in desirability and looks beautiful enough to put in any lounge. Groundbreaking it certainly is and it should stand you in good stead for the future.
