Can we also repair consoles?

This is a question we often get asked by visitors to this website, unfortunately the answer is no but we do know some people who can help you.

So if you have got your Guitar Hero equipment up and running the only thing that can go wrong now is if your console breaks down. You may have been there already, that terrible day when you come home, turn your console and see a light, not the light you're expecting, a different light. It is a nightmare scenario that too many console users have had to face. We too have had to fix the old console from time to time and is a tricky process so here is our advice on what to do if your console breaks down.

XBOX 360 Repair

The most common fault on Xbox 360 is the dreaded RROD or Red Ring Of Death! This can take the form of a number of the normally green quadrants on the front of the Xbox turning red, number and position of the red lights to indicate different faults. Although there are a number of different reasons for this error including E74, three red rings, two red rings and a number of other audio visual problems including screen freezing and having no video at all, the repair is the same for all three. If you Google Red Ring Of Death or Xbox repair you will find no end of entries all over the Internet with varying degrees of usefulness, you can also watch the many YouTube videos which will attempt to guide you through the procedure. The only issue we are really found with these is that they are usually of poor quality and when you're messing around inside your beloved games console you cannot afford to make any mistakes! We recommend you consider buying a professional well-designed, well illustrated guide and we have heard very good things about James Dean, not the actor but the video games expert!

PlayStation 3 Repairs

While many PlayStation owners will claim that the PlayStation never breaks, we can tell you it does and we have had to repair a few ourselves for friends and family. The PS3 suffers from various errors in time to time, including the yellow ring of death (blinking yellow light of death) any combination of flashing red lights or green lights, a seemingly endless possibility of error codes and the most common one we have encountered is when the wave screen freezes (home screen). Having looked at a few options we like the look of the guide over at PS3lightfix, they give you a full-colour guide and detailed informative video guides for each of the possible errors.

Dave Mustaine (former Metallica and Megadeth guitarist) wrote some guitar parts specially for the game and commented that they were some of the hardest parts he had ever written. If you are aware of either of his bands you will know that is quite a statement!

Fingers will bleed, arms will ache, and we will ROCK!

We found this video on Youtube which plays a short section of each song so if you don't recognise any of them get listening and commenting - we want to know what you think of the setlist!

Guitar Hero 6 Demo now availiable free on Xbox live

The latest (and hopefully greatest) release in the Guitar Hero Franchise is now here and Xbox live gold members can download a 4 song demo now for free!

The demo features 4 great songs and they are:

· Black Sabbath “Children of the Grave”
· Foo Fighters “No Way Back”
· Slash featuring Ian Astbury “Ghosts”
· Dethklok “Bloodlines” (bonus track)

The demo shows how your character progresses through the game - you start with a no-good, drop-out, punk guy who has little in the way of true rock skills. Once you have played through a couple of the songs and won yourself some points your punk rocker starts to morph! In the demo you are awarded the Speed Freak power up and this triggers a cool animation showing your guy morphing and changing into a "Monster of Rock", obviously in the full game you will keep on changing until you are a true and all powerful monster of rock!

This is a good demo and shows off some of the games really good points - its not as easy as say GH5 but many in the community will see this as a good thing - let the aching fingers commence!

The full game will be available on the 28th September and we cannot wait - check out the trailer below!
